Cooking Fresh from the Farmer's Market

9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Students discover new seasonal foods and experiment with familiar foods. Class will meet at the Santa Barbara Farmer's Market for an educational shopping experience, then return to the kitchen to prepare purchased ingredients. Fresh vegetables and salads are paired to create a delicious appetizer, entree, and fresh fruit dessert. Class Cost: $39.00 Materials Cost: $12.00

Latin American Cuisine Made Simple for You

3 Mondays, beginning July 14
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. 
Experience the exotic dishes of Latin America by making the constantly changing menu highlighting a variety of countries. Hands-on and delicious you will indulge in taste delights from Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and more. Discover a huge selection of new and unique ingredients and learn where they can be purchased locally. Always new recipes so this is a class that can be taken over and over. Trader Joe’s Picnic and BBQ Dishes

6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
It is picnic and BBQ season but who wants to spend hours preparing. Get some help from the Joe down the street and discover all the delicious prepared and easy to prepare options. Grilling Beyond the BBQ

9 a.m. - 1p.m.
Roast, grill and bake veggies, fruit desserts, salads, biscuits, soup (yes, soup) and protein entrees! Think beyond the 'hunk of meat' BBQ and explore the many ways of the grill. Learn about marinades and rubs too. We'll also prepare fabulous picnic salad sides to satisfy both the meat lovers and the vegans! Grilled Summer Gazpacho Soup; Grilled Corn Salsa with Seasonal Seafood; Fabulous Grilled Vegetable Platter; Grilled Pineapple; Kebobs, Grilled Grass Fed Steak with Caramelized onions over Wilted Greens; Chicken Sausage over Spring Greens and Buttermilk Dressing are just some of the dishes you will enjoy preparing in class. We'll prepare some hearty, warming fall vegetable dishes using nature's best harvest from winter squash dishes and other root vegetables to the hearty fall greens.
