Join Matthew Fox, PhD., internationally acclaimed spiritual theologian, Episcopal priest, and activist, for “Our Emergence into Christ Consciousness”, a retreat at La Casa de Maria. Matthew Fox is a prophetic author, educator, theologian, and contemporary scholar/activist for a creation-centered spirituality. He has written over 30 books, including the Cosmic Christ and a new work on Meister Eckhart: A Mystic Warrior for Our Tim. Fox will discuss his ideas surrounding the Creation Spirituality Movement, the struggle for justice and the work of sacred activism and intergenerational wisdom as a part of the picture. It calls us to a deep ecumenism and a path of wisdom for the healing of the planet. La Casa de Maria is an interfaith retreat and conference center.

BroochJewelry Soldering - Information, Focus, Practice 
with Carl Stanley 
4 Wednesdays, beginning July 23
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.Designed for experienced beginners to advanced jewelry students who want to develop soldering and torch operation skills. A variety of soldering techniques, theories and set-ups are covered. Students will learn torch use and complex design issues that require many solder connections. Materials Cost: $25.00  Class Cost: $95.00

NecklaceJewelry Workshop
with Carl Stanley
4 Wednesdays, beginning July 23
9 a.m. – 12 Noon
This class allows experienced jewelry students to work on personal projects with instructor support. Demonstrations will be provided by the instructor in a variety of jewelry making techniques and methods pertaining to student’s individual needs. Materials will not be provided; students will be expected to provide materials for their own projects. Students should have completed beginning jewelry classes and be familiar with the use of the jewelry lab. This class is not structured for beginning students. Class Cost: $95.00

Financial Assistance for Parenting Classes


UpsidedownWhile we aim to keep the CLL’s great Parenting Classes affordable, we know tuition can still be a stretch. 

It’s easy to apply for CLL Tuition Assistance – the deadline is this Friday, July 18th.  

Come “Back to School” this Fall with your infant, toddler or pre-K child: ages 1 month – 5 years! Spend fun, safe and healthy mornings together, while learning hands-on how to be the best parent you can be.


Need Help Paying Tuition for CLL Parenting Classes? Fall Tuition Assistance Applications Due Friday, July 18th by 4 p.m.

This Fall, come learn positive parenting attitudes and how to create your healthy parent-child relationship in a safe and stimulating environment with age appropriate activities for infants and children.

Parents and caregivers with children will learn all about typical stages of development through observation, participation with other families and discussion. Be sure to register early to ensure your class will run.

Students discover new seasonal foods and experiment with familiar foods. Class will meet at the Santa Barbara Farmer's Market for an educational shopping experience, then return to the kitchen to prepare purchased ingredients. Roast, grill and bake veggies, fruit desserts, salads, biscuits, soup (yes, soup) and protein entrees! Think beyond the 'hunk of meat' BBQ and explore the many ways of the grill. Learn about marinades and rubs too. We'll also prepare fabulous picnic salad sides to satisfy both the meat lovers and the vegans!
