CLL Student Honored for Original Jewelry Design

CLL student Gayle Minjarez discovered her passion for jewelry making – and for CLL classes –  20 years ago!

“The [CLL] jewelry program is one of the best jewelry labs in Southern California.”
CLL Teacher Martin Fowler introduced Gayle to the process of reticulation in her first jewelry class at the Wake Center nearly 20 years ago.  One of his recent classes taught students how to do “fold forming” combined with reticulation.

"After the class I designed my Origami Bracelet using the fold forming technique and adding a different style of box clasp.  The reticulation texture creates another dimension and interest to the surface.”

Gayle’s bracelet was awarded Honorable Mention in the 2013 Lewton-Brain fold forming competition.
“Thank you to all of the very talented instructors and their generous dedication to teaching and sharing their extensive knowledge of working with metals.”
