Individualized Sewing  

5 Wednesdays, beginning February 18^th
This class is designed for the student who has a desire to learn to sew and/or improve their sewing skills. Students will be guided through the techniques necessary to construct a project of their choice. Projects will provide the opportunity for creativity, achievement and success through a combination of theory and practical experience. Class Cost: $84 Materials Cost: $5

Glass Fusing

4 Mondays, beginning February 23^rd
1:30 p.m.-4:30p.m.
Students will learn basic skills to create several fused glass pieces. Emphasis will be placed on creating functional, yet artistic pieces, including a small plate or bowl. The class will be taught at a relaxed pace with emphasis on artistry and fun. Students will experience the wonderfully equipped glass studio. Class Cost: $83 Materials Cost: $6



Jewelry Making with Silver Precious Metal Clay
4 Mondays, beginning March 2^nd
12:30 p.m.-4:30 pm. 
Take a lump of silver clay, shape it, stamp it, fire it and then wear it with pride. Silver Precious Metal Clay (PMC) to create remarkable jewelry items. PMC is made of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. It can be sculpted and formed like clay. It is then fired in a kiln where the silver particles solidify into the object created. A fast and creative way to make silver jewelry quickly and with minimal equipment. Class Cost: $143 Materials Cost: $200

What’s New in Fine Arts at the CLL?  New Year’s Resolutions? We have you covered! Whether you’re a professional or an aspiring artist, come chart your 2015 adventure in art, starting with one of our newest hands-on classes and workshops. These classes fill fast, so be sure to register early. NEW ART CLASSES FOR 2015! Here are a just a few of our brand new classes for 2015: ●    Animals Alive: Drawing at the Zoo ●    Landscape Oil Painting from Photos ●    Secret Power of Words as Art To view all Arts classes, click here.  NEW!   Animals Alive: Drawing at the Zoo 9 Tuesdays, beginning January 20th10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Looking for a new type of drawing class outside of the classroom? Drawing animals and birds is an exciting and fascinating type of portraiture, and involves unique skill sets. Enjoy meeting your class and teacher at the Santa Barbara Zoo to draw rare and exotic animals live, rather than from photography. Learn how to break down the structure of an animal with basic shapes, develop the ability to capture animals' gestures in their movement and enhance your drawings with varying forms and textures. Class Cost: $180 NEW! Landscape Oil Painting from Photos 10 Thursdays, beginning January 15th  9:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.  Good photographs are just the jumping off point for creating great landscape paintings. Paint with more dynamic colors by applying one of the three great color schemes. This course includes instruction and demonstration of creating an oil painting from a photo from start to finish. You will analyze your photo through drawing, color mixing and completion. You then will create paintings from your own photos, with individual hands on help and critique from the instructor. Class Cost: $100 NEW!  Secret Power of Words as Art  4 Mondays, beginning January 26th  6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  Do you love language, phrases, letters, words? We'll explore words using paint, wood, paper and mixed media to get your message out. You can use provocative paintings or some 3-D objects that merge philosophy, literature, and your own playful ideas. Discover how this unique technique and create wonderful new and exciting pieces. Admission is free and the Fair will feature fine arts, ceramics, jewelry, fabric arts, glass art and other handcrafted gifts created by CLL teachers and students… PLUS live music and more.

Sell your Arts/Crafts at the CLL Arts & Crafts Fair

Showcase your work at the CLL Arts & Crafts Fair Join CLL teachers and students at the 2nd Annual CLL Arts & Crafts Fair at the SBCC Wake Campus on Saturday, November 15th. Here's YOUR chance to participate and join the CLL teachers and students who will be selling artwork and crafts created in CLL classes – just in time for the community to do their holiday shopping!   To apply, you must fill-out an application and waiver form and submit with $30 application fee check to "Center for Lifelong Learning ".  Pick up your application today at the Wake and Schott Campus.  To apply for a table: Please complete the application form and waiver of liability, available at the Wake and Schott Campus. Submit forms with your check for $30 made out to “SBCC Center for Lifelong Learning."
