Join the CLL at the Floral Arrangement Show

CLL at the 43rd Annual Floral Arrangement Show 


This weekend, view and shop for unique floral displays from Las Floralias and the CLL’s Floral Arrangement Class at the 43rd Annual Floral Arrangement Show on Sat. November 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun. Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the CLL!

  • The show will include daily floral arranging demonstrations at 1 p.m.
  • Succulent wreaths, floral arrangements and calendars will also be available for purchase. 
All proceeds benefit Public Art School Programs

WHEN: Saturday, November 22, 12 noon – 5pm & Sunday, November 22, 11am – 3pm 

WHERE: SBCC Schott Campus, Tannahill Auditorium 




Richard Finn, CLL teacher, San Roque Florist owner, and member of Las Floralias will have his work on display. Finn teaches Flower Arranging and Florist Style Designing at the CLL. The course teaches students the secrets and techniques of floristry in flowering arranging or western garden style for the home, office, events or competitions. 

Las Floralias Flower Arrangers of Santa Barbara is a flower arranging club with a broad spectrum of members, the majority of whom have taken Flower Arranging classes through the CLL.

Adult Education Program On South Coast Celebrating First Anniversary As Self-Sufficent Program

An adult education program on the South Coast which served thousands of people annually became another casualty of the state funding crisis.
But, college officials, students, and teachers rallied, and came up with a creative approach to keeping the program running by making it self sufficient.
The Santa Barbara City College Center for Lifelong Learning is going to celebrate its first anniversary this weekend.

Look & Learn Knife SkillsMeet our Teacher, Suzanne Landry Lemagie, celebrity chef, wellness educator and author of  The Passionate Vegetable and Fresh Food Matters. 
Learn to chop those veggies properly, with our Look & Learn video, "Knife Skills"
  • Get a good vegetable knife.
  • Hold the food down with one hand, and tuck your fingernails behind your knuckles.
  • In the other hand, hold the knife and make sure the front of the knife always stays in front of the food.
  • … then glide (glide knife forward, cutting on the downward motion away from yourself)
